6/20/2019 7:25:00 AM Inspire Grow North to help businesses build a better prepared workforce
The Grow North Regional Economic Development Corporation is introducing Inspire Grow North, a platform that allows businesses to construct a profile that links to a student's career pathway research platform.
"Inspire allows businesses to put up a profile and then deepens the engagement by building connections with local schools so students can experience career mentorships, job shadowing which leads to internships, youth apprenticeships and more," Grow North Executive Director Brittany Beyer said in the June Grow North newsletter. "Students in grades 6th through 12th develop a profile as to where they want to go in their career. Inspire gives students and educators a deeper understanding of the jobs that are available, and connects businesses and future employees."
According to information included in the June Grow North newsletter, Inspire Grow North is led by dedicated regional economic and workforce development agencies, school districts, chambers of commerce and other community organizations. It is powered by Career Cruising (Xello), a world leader in career exploration and planning software used in secondary, post-secondary, library and workforce institutions in Wisconsin and around the world.
This program is now active statewide, affording businesses and students all over the state to begin real conversations about how many great working experiences can be found right here in the Northwoods, the newsletter states.
