Downtown Rhinelander merchants are throwing one last bash to end the summer.

The Downtown Rhinelander Block Party and Chalk Fest will be held Saturday, Sept. 7.

The third annual Chalk Fest will take place on Davenport Street from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. while the Block Party will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to an announcement posted on downtownrhinelander.com.

Judging for the Chalk Fest will take place at 3:45 p.m.

Awards will be presented to the winners.

There will also be a free family chalking area for kids under 12, however participating children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

The Block Party, on Brown and Davenport Streets, will include free cake and ice cream while supplies last, live music, free family activities and more.

"We also will have a free family area featuring the Hodag store, a hodag to ride, the YMCA, The Home Depot, and Old School Arts & Learning; all are free for your family to do!" the post states. "The Hodag will be there, and Scoopie from Culvers!"

There will also be a raffle basket with prizes donated by local businesses.
