One person was injured late Monday morning in a two-vehicle traffic accident on State Highway 47 at the County K intersection, the Oneida County sheriff's office reports.
According to a sheriff's office press release, a 9-1-1 call was received at approximately 11:43 a.m. Monday reporting a two-vehicle crash on Highway 47 at the County Highway K intersection.
"Citizens on scene reported injuries and that a traffic light had been damaged during the crash," the release states. "One person was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The accident was not alcohol-related."
The cause of the crash was the failure of the southbound vehicle, a 2006 Honda Accord, to yield the right of way to the northbound vehicle, a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the release states.
Oneida County deputies along with the Rhinelander police department, the Oneida County Ambulance, the Newbold First Responders, and the Newbold Fire Department responded to the crash. The Oneida County sheriff's office will be completing the accident report.
