Wild Instincts animal rehabilitation recently received a donation from the Rookery Run Fall Challenge Disc Golf Tournament co-director, Jackie Cody. The tournament was played at Rookery Run in Newbold on Saturday, Sept. 28.
"Players in the PDGA sanctioned tournament contributed $106 to the Aces Pool during tournament play," organizers said in a press release. "No player aced the disc golf course so Wild Instincts was designated the beneficiary. This was the first PDGA competition at Rookery Run attracting players from across Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and South Dakota. There were pro, amateur and junior divisions. Trophy discs were awarded to players as well as cash."
Seventy-six percent of the players chose to complete a survey about their experience, the release states. One hundred percent would recommend playing Rookery Run to others, would recommend participation in the Fall Challenge and would return, the release states. More survey results showed 58 percent of respondents purchased gas, 8 percent stayed at hotels, 32 percent shopped, 52 percent dined out and 20 percent took part in other activities.
