Northwoods School of Dance to present 'The Nutcracker' Dec. 7

The Northwoods School of Dance will perform its interpretation of "The Nutcracker" Dec. 7 at the John and Dori Brown Performing Arts Center at Rhinelander High School. Shows are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

"The dancers have been rehearsing and are excited to revisit this classic Christmas tale," organizers said in a press release. "This performance is partially funded by a generous grant from the Northern Arts Council. In addition to 'The Nutcracker,' jazz, tap and hip-hop dancers aged 3-22 will open the show with holiday favorites."

Tanya Cook, Jessica Halpern, Miriah Mannikko, Jessie Swearingen, Tanya Taylor, along with Director Karen Cook, have been choreographing pieces for the two shows.

Tickets will be sold at the door prior to each show.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children over age 3. Children age 3 and under are admitted free.
