The Friendship House Family Restaurant in Rhinelander raised $4,183.73 during their annual fundraiser to benefit veterans on Jan. 22.
One hundred percent of the profits collected throughout the day Wednesday were split evenly among two local veterans organizations, American Veterans (AMVETS) and the Rhinelander Military Support Group.
Each organization received a check for $2,091.87 from restaurant owner Tony Sabani.
Sabani said he was happy with the turnout and considers the fundraiser a success.
"It went very well, we did a very good job," Sabani said. "We raised a good amount of money and we had a lot of people come and support us."
Sabani said patrons were very generous during the fundraiser, even donating money to the cause on top of the price of their meal.
The money collected during the fundraiser will be used by the local veteran organizations to support veterans both at home and serving overseas.
In prior years, the money has been used to add handicap access to veteran's homes within the area and boxes of goods have been sent to support troops overseas.
Sabani said he was glad to support the cause and he hopes to continue supporting veterans in the future.
