The conclusion of the boys' and girls' basketball regular seasons brought to a close another year of successful contests run during Rhinelander High School basketball games by the Rhinelander Area Scholarship Foundation. The foundation, through its Half-Court Shot contests at varsity boys' basketball games and 50/50 raffles held during all varsity con- tests, raised $3,867, which will be given back this spring in the form of college scholarships to graduating Rhinelander area seniors. Associated Bank sponsored this year's contest and contributed $1,000 to the RASF. The rest of the money raised by the group came from ticket sales during its 50/50 and shot contests. Pictured, RASF board members Jennie Jaskie, left, and John O'Melia, right, pose with Donna Van Zile, who was the lucky 50/50 raffle winner during a girls' basketball game against Marshfield Thursday, Feb. 20. Since 1991, the RASF has award scholarships to 392 RHS students, totaling $332,350.
