Rhinelander chamber announces 'Buy Local Pledge'

The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce (RACC) is jump-starting its recently introduced eight-week "Buy Local" campaign with a plea for members of the community to take the "Buy Local Pledge".

The campaign, announced last week, is aimed at supporting and reviving local businesses struggling in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We know that locally owned businesses build strong communities." said Lauren Sackett, the chamber's executive director. "Support your friends and neighbors by investing in our community - utilize our digital toolkit and take the Buy Local Pledge."

The Buy Local Pledge is as follows: "Because I love Rhinelander, I pledge to

• Dine locally when I can, but at least once during Eat Local week.

• Shop at a local store over ordering online - spending at least $25 locally during Shop Local week.

• Be a tourist in my own backyard and do something new during Explore Local week.

• Eat, shop, explore and relax locally and support our local businesses that support me and the community."

The public is also encourages to visit RhinelanderChamber.com to find additional information on the campaign. The online toolkit offers additional ways individuals can support the campaign via social media, including by downloading one of two cover photo options and setting it as your Facebook Cover photo with special frame, the release states.

Social media users can share the campaign's social media graphics, all of which utilize key messages. Hashtags associated with the campaign include #BuyLocal #RhinelanderWI #SupportReviveProsper.
