 City announces budget sessions

The City of Rhinelander will hold work sessions on Sept. 9, 16, 22 and 30 in preparation for the annual budget hearing in November.

The sessions will begin at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

"Additional work sessions will be announced in late September," according to a city press release. "Departments will present their budget requests for consideration by the Council as the Administration prepares a balanced Budget."

The City Council will hold a public hearing on the 2021 budget at 6 p.m. Nov. 9, 2020.

"These Budget work sessions will identify the priorities for 2021," said Mayor Chris Frederickson. "This series of budget meetings will facilitate transparent discussion surrounding the city's priorities," he added.

The sessions will be recorded and made available online for the viewing public.

The sessions are open to the public, compliant with social distancing and mask practices, with anyone feeling ill to remain home per health department guidance.

Residents are also encouraged to contact their council member with any budget concerns.
