2/26/2021 7:26:00 AM Salzer joins Nicolet College Board of Trustees
The Nicolet College Board welcomed its newest trustee when Joe Salzer was sworn in at the board's February meeting.
The Rhinelander resident has lived in the Northwoods for more than 30 years and brings extensive public service experience to the Nicolet College board, according to a Nicolet press release. This includes serving as president and alderman on the Rhinelander Common Council and on numerous associated committees, which include the Board of Public Works; Protection of Persons and Property; Parks, Buildings and Grounds; Finance, Wage and Salary; Water and Wastewater Utility, Block Grant Housing Rehabilitation; and the Board of Review.
Other civic activities Salzer has been involved with include the Boom Lake Log Jam, ArtStart and RhineCon. He's also a graduate of the Rhinelander Citizens' Police Academy.
Salzer works as the IT Systems Administrator and Measuring Systems Specialist at Ponsse North America in Rhinelander.
He fills the Employer Member seat previously held by Ruby Gauthier. Salzer's term ends on June 30, 2022.
