Rhinelander Fourth of July Parade theme announced

The theme for the 2022 Rhinelander Fourth of July parade will be "Rally Around the Flag," organizers announced this week.

The main parade will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2022 starting at the police station on Frederick Street, moving south on Brown Street and then north on Courtney Street to Davenport Street.

Units of interest include the Rhinelander High School Band, Edgar High School Band, Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay, Zor Funsters and Janesville Fife & Drum.

Applications are available now, through the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce, for groups and organizations interested in participating in the parade.

The committee is also seeking antique, new or just plain sharp cars or trucks to lead sponsored units, the release states.

Awards will be given for entries in the following categories: Non-Profit, Business, Marching and General.

The kiddie parade will start at 10 a.m. with lineup set for 9:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran School on Frederick Street.

Donations for the fireworks or parade can be sent to parade coordinator Dale Schlieve at 312 Conro St, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Make checks payable to DRI or Rhinelander Chamber Commerce.

For questions about the main parade, call or email Schlieve at 715-369-1814 or 2schlieve@charter.net.
