Lake Tomahawk's next town supervisor has been chosen.
The town board, consisting of town chairman George DeMet and supervisor Stephanie Sowatzka, met in special session Sept. 7, along with town clerk Nancy Schneider, to review applications for a third supervisor.
The opening on the three-member board was created last month upon the resignation of Matt Michalsen.
Until recently a teacher at Lakeland Union High School, Michalsen was first elected in the spring of 2015. Over the summer he accepted a position with the Marshfield school district.
DeMet said there were four people who submitted applications to fill the vacant seat, including Michalsen's father, Gary.
Lake Tomahawk residents Larry Hoffman, Kevin Raymond and former town supervisor Shawn Tingley were the other three candidates.
DeMet said Hoffman, who is retired and lives on Dorothy Lake, was selected from the group to replace Michalsen.
