2/13/2018 7:27:00 AM Irma man killed in Highway 8 crash
A 31-year-old Irma man was killed Saturday evening after his vehicle slid into the path of an eastbound vehicle on U.S. Highway 8 near Rhinelander.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, "a 2001 Saturn was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 8 near County Highway N at approximately 5:42 p.m., when the driver drove onto the north shoulder, overcorrected, and slid sideways into the path of an eastbound 2010 Honda CR-V. "
The driver of the Saturn, James T. Reichelt, 31, of Irma, died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Honda, Lila Cirilli, 87, of Rhinelander, was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk with non-life threatening injuries.
Assisting agencies included Oneida County Sheriff's Department, Tomahawk Police Department, Crescent Fire Department, Newbold Fire Department, Oneida County EMS, Lincoln County EMS, Woodboro First Responders, and Oneida County Medical Examiner's Office.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is conducting the investigation and reconstruction of this crash.
