9/10/2019 7:30:00 AM WisDOT to welcome 40,000 motorcyclists to the Northwoods
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) North Central Region is preparing to welcome more than 40,000 motorcyclists to the Northwoods this week.
Visitors on two-wheels and four will enjoy early fall colors, music at the Country Rocks Autism music festival in Harshaw and the 38th annual Tomahawk Fall Ride and MDA fundraiser in Tomahawk, among other activities, the agency said in a press release.
In anticipation of the area events, temporary signals on the resurfacing project on WIS 86 in Tomahawk have been removed until Monday, Sept.16, the release states.
Visitors can learn more about this project, here: https://projects.511wi.gov/wis86lc/.
"With the increase in motorcyclists to the area, drivers behind the wheel should take an extra moment to look twice for motorcycles, especially before pulling out from intersections," said Ken Wickham, North Central Region Director.
