2/16/2020 11:49:00 AM Canadian man arrested for recklessly endangering safety after striking 13 vehicles in Lake Tomahawk
A 52-year-old Canadian man was arrested Friday evening after the vehicle he was operating allegedly struck a number of parked vehicles in the town of Lake Tomahawk.
According to a press release from Oneida County sheriff's captain Tyler Young, a call came in at approximately 6:09 p.m. Friday reporting a southbound vehicle had struck several parked vehicles along State Highway 47. A total of 13 vehicles, all of which were unoccupied, were struck between Choate Boulevard and Violet Drive, the release said.
"Upon investigation of the incident the operator of the suspect vehicle, a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup, was identified as 52-year-old Robert Allan Johnson of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada," the release states."Johnson was issued citations for reckless endangering safety with a motor vehicle, hit and run unattended vehicle, failure to keep vehicle under control, inattentive driving, unsafe lane deviation, disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Johnson was also arrested for felony second degree recklessly endangering safety."
Johnson posted a $7,166.80 bond and was released from custody on Saturday, February 15, 2020 with an initial appearance scheduled for Monday, Feb. 17.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the following: Lake Tomahawk Fire Department, Minocqua Fire Department, Oneida County EMS, and the Woodruff Police Department.
