7/17/2020 7:24:00 AM In wake of COVID-19, OCTC invites tourism-related businesses to be listed on website Onenorthwoods.com houses a nearly 500-business database
Knowing how critical this time in the wake of coronavirus is for local businesses, the Oneida County Tourism Council (OCTC), a cooperative group of four county chambers, is again inviting all county tourism-related businesses to be a part of its website.
"Onenorthwoods.com launched one year ago and has been incredibly well-received by interested travelers," according to an OCTC press release. "With relaxing colors and spirited accents, the mobile-first site was designed to be a hub for the county's businesses. Currently, the site houses all the tourism-related businesses who belong to a chamber of commerce within Oneida County. But OCTC officials want owners to know that non-chamber members are welcome to be a part of the site as well, provided they fall into the categories of lodging, shopping, dining, attractions or activities."
"We want to be sure that local businesses have every opportunity to be seen and visited right now," said Collette Sorgel, president of the Oneida County Tourism Council (OCTC) and Executive Director of the Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. "Visitors are here and more are looking to come, and we want them to have access to everything Oneida County has to offer when they use our website. Visibility for businesses is critical to the area's recovery."
To get an Oneida County business listed on onenorthwoods.com, contact the chamber of commerce nearest to the business's location. Chamber membership is not required. Business owners will need to provide some basic contact information, a brief description, and a photo to generate the free listing. The info then becomes part of a large database that allows travelers to use a robust filter system to search by the type of business, amenities, location, and more.
Business owners with questions should contact their local chamber of commerce, or the Oneida County Tourism council online, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or via telephone at (800) 236-3006.
