Belland strikes again, captures B-Mod scrum at Eagle River Speedway

Hometown driver Bruce Belland backed up his $1,000 B-Mod shootout win a week ago with a wire-to-wire victory in the 15-lap caution free B Mod feature at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday night.

Belland jumped into the lead at the drop of the green and kept a comfortable distance between himself and Jesse Aho and Ty Springer to hold on to the win. Aho held on for second place money at the checkers, followed by Springer, Jason Zdroik and Duane Dunbar, who was making his first appearance of the season at the one-third mile, clay oval.

Pulaski's "Hot Rod" Snellenberger took a page from Belland's book, also repeating as a feature winner. Snellenberger's victory came in the Stock class. The former national champion jumped into the lead at the drop of the green and was never headed the whole way. Greenleaf's Mike Carter claimed second at the pay window, followed by Brandon Hakala, defending track champion Ryan Valeria and Jason Eisel.

Tomahawk's Keith Troutman captured his third straight pure stock feature but his win was anything but easy. Phillips' Roger Walker put heavy pressure on Troutman in the final few laps, even pulling his car up alongside Troutman twice. Walker hung on for second, followed by Brian Mahler, Dave Dishaw and James Melton.

Ashley Schoone captured her second four cylinder feature win of the season. Tommie Jo Springer won the 600 Micro Sprint feature while Conover's Blake Hartman emerged triumphant in the Jr. Sprint feature.

Racing resumes next Tuesday night, July 16 as Halsey Fab Shop of Eagle River will sponsor the races. The Wounded Warriors will be hosting the 50/50 drawing. Racing action gets underway at 7:15 p.m.
