In the Northern Lakes Conference, Jaeger Adams and Cory Ruhland each had 10 points, but Elcho was no match for Crandon, falling to the Cardinals 79-36. Kory Kincaid scored 18 points in the win for Crandon. Laona/Wabeno dropped Three Lakes 71-43.

Northland Pines lost to Houghton, Mich., 62-45 Monday night in Houghton.

Several Great Northern Conference teams were in action Tuesday. Mosinee scored the closest victory, downing Westfield 46-45 in a non-conference matchup thanks to a pair of Brittany Dulak free throws with seven seconds remaining.

Medford held off Stanley-Boyd 51-47, Northland Pines crushed Hurley 56-36 and Antigo lost at Wisconsin Rapids 34-13.

Northland Pines got one up on bitter Great Northern Conference rival Mosinee, downing the Indians 2-1 Tuesday in Mosinee. The Eagles scored twice in the second period and withstood a late rally after the Indians scored on the power play with less than seven minutes to play.

Medford was the latest team to fall victim to Chequamegon/Phillips, losing 7-1. The Screaming Eagles and Loggers are now 4-0 entering tonight's rematch with Rhinelander. Elsewhere, Lakeland downed Ashland 4-2 and Waupaca beat Waupun 4-1.

Girls' hockey

Only one GNC contest was on the docket Monday, Northland Pines earned a 5-1 victory over Medford.
