The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association has suspended activities related to its all-star football games, the high school coaching association announced on Tuesday. The games had been planned for July 18 at UW-Oshkosh.
"The WFCA leadership along with our partner, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, have been informed by both UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater that their campuses are closed for summer camps and events, due to the Covid-19 pandemic Therefore, the WFCA has decided to suspend the 2020 All Star games and activities at this point," the organization said in a statement, adding it would continue to monitor the situation over the next two months before making a final decision on whether to cancel the event all together.
Last month Rhinelander High School senior running back Drake Martin posted on social media that he has been added to the North Division Large School roster for the event.
Martin was not listed on the initial 46-man roster released back in February. He rushed for 1,253 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Hodags last season, helping Rhinelander to a 6-4 record, the team's first winning season since 1994.
