Hodag hockey uses big third period to beat Medford 7-3
Conor Pequet recorded a hat trick, including a momentum-changing goal in the final moments of the second period, as the Hodags scored five unanswered goals to defeat Medford 7-3 in a Great Northern Conference contest at the Simek Center.

Hodags' Francis earns swim, swimmer of the year honors from WISCA
Malia Francis' phenomenal sophomore season was recently recognized by the Wisconsin Swim Coaches Association. The Rhinelander swimmer was selected to receive WISCA's Division 2 swimmer and swim of the year awards based on her championship performances in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100 backstroke in last month's WIAA state meet in Madison.

Van Zile breaks RHS all-time scoring mark as Lady Hodags down Eagles
Kenedy Van Zile is now the most prolific scorer in Rhinelander High School girls' basketball history. The senior guard scored 32 points Friday night, and broke Becky Knutson's all-time record, as the Lady Hodags pulled away to a 79-38 win over Northland Pines.

Slow start costs Northern Edge in 3-1 loss to Arrowhead
Arrowhead scored three times in the first - including a pair of goals in the final 1 minute, 18 seconds of the period - which proved to be the difference as it defeated the Northern Edge 3-1 at the Rhinelander Ice Arena.

The first meet of the season for the Rhinelander High School gymnastics team affirmed preseason thoughts about the Great Northern Conference Small division. The Hodags have a solid squad but they are looking up at a Medford team that is on a whole other level.
