Home playoff basketball games at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium have been a staple over the years. This weekend, the Rhinelander High School girls' basketball team takes center stage in hopes of giving Hodag nation an exciting two-day show.

A storybook ending for the the RHS boys' swim team was not in the cards Friday night. Rhinelander failed to reach the podium with any of its nine entries and finished 14th overall in the WIAA Division 2 state meet in Madison.

It is an interesting dichotomy for the Rhinelander High School boys' swim team as it prepares for the WIAA Division 2 state meet Friday night in Madison. Seven swimmers qualified for the meet, giving Rhinelander nine entries in the state competition, but there is a clear difference between the qualifiers.

Hodag boys win final matches, rally to qualify for state bowling meet
Rhinelander began the day with a 5-4 win over previously undefeated Amherst and then beat Wittenberg-Birnamwood 7-2 in a WiHSBC District 9 doubleheader in Plover and qualified for the state meet when Merrill lost both of its matches on Sunday.

Girls' boarders Kylee White and Madesyn Van Order finished fifth and seventh, respectively, in the overall competition while Bailey Schwab finished 13th overall in the boys' competition at the WIARA state championships in La Crosse.
