4/20/2017 7:24:00 AM Fair to include pallet recycling contest
This year's Oneida County Fair will include a pallet recycling contest. Local individuals or groups are invited to bring projects for indoor or outdoor use that are made from recycled pallets, fair organizers said in a press release. Each exhibit will be displayed in or around the Exhibit Court area during the fair. Gift certificates and other prizes donated from area businesses will be awarded to the top three finishers in these four categories: article made for gardening, article made for outdoor use, article made for indoor use, and display or poster of pallet use. The entry fee is $5, and items for the contest need to be brought to the fair just prior to its opening day, on Wed., Aug. 2 between the hours of noon and 7 p.m.
Judging will take place on Friday, Aug. 4th, at 5 p.m. Besides this contest, there is also the opportunity for youth and adults to bring items made from other recycled materials and enter them through the regular Exhibition judging process, the release states. There is no entry fee for those items but participants are required to complete a Fairbook entry form available on the Oneida County Fair website or in a copy of the Fairbook.
