Alzheimer's Association to host 'Purple Party' June 22

The Alzheimer's Association Greater Wisconsin Chapter will host its first annual Purple Party Saturday, June 22 at Nicolet College in Rhinelander. The event will begin at 5 p.m. with live music by artist Dave Drivas, a cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres, raffles and silent auction followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. with presentation and live auction concluding the evening. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased by calling 715.352.4091 or emailing Guests are encouraged to dress in purple to honor the lives of people impacted by Alzheimer's and other dementias.

"The Purple Party takes the place of an event we have done for many years, Memories and Melodies," committee chair Jim Brust said in a press release. "We are excited to launch the annual 'Purple Party' this year at Nicolet College, a beautiful venue. We have a great evening planned with terrific food, exciting raffles and amazing auctions."

"The evening is a great way to engage and connect with the community, learn about the local services the Alzheimer's Association provides and raise funds for the 110,000 Wisconsinites living with Alzheimer's and dementia," the release states. "It's wonderful to see people committed to supporting the Alzheimer's Association in Northern Wisconsin. We have a great evening planned again this year with terrific food, music and auctions."

Funds raised will support local Alzheimer's Association's care and support services including support groups, family education programs and outreach services. They also drive the Association's research advancement and advocacy efforts.
