5/23/2019 7:29:00 AM Vendors prepping for first Hodag Farmers Market of the year
Cassie Shefchik Special to the River News
It's that time of year again!
The Hodag Farmers Market will hold its first sale of the year this Saturday, May 25, at Rhinelander's Pioneer Park.
All the vendors are eagerly awaiting setting up and seeing all the fine people who come down to our local market. At least I think all the vendors are eagerly awaiting.
You see, there are far too many times in my life when goofy, odd, silly situations find me. This late winter/early spring such a situation befell me. A simple email error meant I had no idea when meetings were held so I haven't seen any of the other vendors, except my sister, since last October.
Fortunately I'm an easy-going sort of person and saw no harm or foul. I actually thought it was funny. The best part is my assigned duties for the market are the same this year as they were last year which I was going to do anyway should the board want me to continue.
But less about me and more about the Hodag Farmers Market which will have more vendors than my sister and myself.
There will be early spring vegetables available. There will be bedding plants. There will be home-canned goods. There will be goat cheese and baked goods. There will be some craft items. There will be many vendors with smiling faces ready to talk to you, answer questions, and aid you in your purchases.
The vendors hope to see you at Pioneer Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25.
