Lake Tomahawk to host children's events this summer

Lake Tomahawk summer children's events for 2019 have been scheduled. These events include making a bow and arrow, flying a kite, and using plants and vegetables to create dye, organizers said in a press release.

From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 22, children are invited to make a bow and arrow set. This event will be held at Snowshoe Park. Licia Johnson of the North Lakeland Discovery Center will be helping with the event.

Children are invited to fly a kite from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 20. This event will be held at the boat landing.

Interested persons are asked to meet at Rainbow Park from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27 to build and launch a model rocket. Amateur rocketeer and former Minocqua town chair Joe Handrick will be there to help, organizers said. Rockets and supplies will be donated by Dan Guse of Home and Energy Solutions of Wisconsin.

On Aug. 3, children will be able to create dye using plants and vegetables.

This event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Snowshoe Park.

Finally, children can create a mess with slime from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 17 at Snowshoe Park.

During these events, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Snacks will be provided. There is no cost to this event, but parents are asked to call Darlene Neumann at 715-277-3514 to register.
