The Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library renovation project is complete and the community is invited to celebrate the next chapter of the Demmer legacy from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 29.
There will be food, music, a storybook garden for the children, a photo booth, concessions, tours, and a book raffle. One of the Three Lakes fire trucks, squad cars, and the K9 unit will also be on hand, organizers said in a press release.
Also during the event, the Three Lakes eighth-grade class will hold a car wash and lemonade sale to benefit their 2020 trip to Washington D.C.
The event celebrates the end of a renovation process that included creating some new space for the Three Lakes Historical Society.
"In April 2018 we "broke ground" on the Demmer Library 2.0, a Demmer ready for library services in the 21st century," Demmer officials said in a press release. "In late February 2019, we opened the doors to the new building. We have spent the last several months adding finishing touches (custom built wood shelving, additional furniture, conference technology setup), and every day we get to hear how thrilled people are with what they're seeing."
