9/12/2019 7:24:00 AM Benefits planned for family involved in fatal crash
Two benefits will be held in local communities to benefit the Nelson/Knorr family.
The Mercer School junior class will host a benefit for the Nelson/Knorr family from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wolf's Den in Mercer on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
The meal will be buffet-style, with choice of pasta, salad, bread stick and soda included in the price, organizers said in a press release. Tickets, purchased at the door or in advance at the school, are $12 for adults and $8 for kids.
Another benefit will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Lake Tomahawk Community Center. That event will include a raffle, bake sale, and silent auction. Lunch will be provided by Bad Bones BBQ.
On Sept. 3, Tony Nelson of Lake Tomahawk lost his life in an automobile accident due to a medical emergency. His fiance, Dawn Knorr, and their son AJ, sustained multiple, non-life threatening injuries.
These benefits will assist the family with costs from funeral arrangements to medical bills and therapy.
A GoFundMe page has also been set up to assist the family.
