10/22/2019 7:30:00 AM VA Medical Center leaders to hold
town hall meetings in the Northwoods
Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center leadership will be in Northwoods for two town hall meetings for veterans, family members, caregivers, and anyone who would like to learn more about VA health care, the Oneida County Veterans Service Office has announced in a press release.
Both meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5. The first meeting is set for 10 a.m. at American Legion Post 431, 1795 Superior Street, Three Lakes. The second meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the Rhinelander Veterans Center, 1002 Coon Street, Rhinelander.
"These sessions will be talking about the new MISSION Act, which includes after-hour visits to Urgent Care at non-VA facilities, as well as other important information," the release states. "You will also have an opportunity to ask any questions you have about VA health care."
According to VA.gov, the goal of the MISSION Act is to strengthen the nationwide VA Health Care System by empowering veterans with more health care options.
"The changes not only improve our ability to provide the health care Veterans need, but also when and where they need it," said VA Secretary Robert Wilkie. "It will also put Veterans at the center of their care and offer options, including expanded telehealth and urgent care, so they can find the balance in the system that is right for them."
