10/31/2019 7:25:00 AM Three Lakes Lions Club to host Halloween Party
The Three Lakes Lions Club is sponsoring a Halloween Party complete with pumpkin carving and a costume contest this Thursday, Oct. 31.
The annual event provides children of the Three Lakes area with a fun yet safe activity for their Halloween enjoyment, the club explained in a press release. Children in preschool through sixth grade are eligible to enter pumpkin carving and/or costume contest. There will also be a "grownup" costume category for those in seventh grade and up as well as for parents.
The evening will begin with the pumpkin-carving contest, held at the Three Lakes School commons. Pumpkins will be judged for creativity and how well they relate to the theme of Halloween. Pumpkins are not provided and must be carved in advance with entries brought to the school commons no later than 5:30 p.m. on the evening of Oct. 31.
Children and families should arrive at the school commons and be ready for judging starting at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in four grade categories: Preschool-K, 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6. Costumes will be chosen for scariest, most original, funniest, and coolest. There is also a category for grown-ups and families that come dressed in a group theme. The creativity of the Three Lakes community will be on full display! Refreshments and a bag candy will be provided by the Three Lakes Lions. Trick-or-treating after the event is strictly at the discretion of parents. Both the Lions as well as police and fire departments urge each child be accompanied by an adult, the release states.
