11/2/2019 7:30:00 AM November mindfulness: Practicing together
Ascension Koller Behavioral Health offers monthly mindfulness and meditation programs in Rhinelander that are free to anyone in the community.
"Practicing Together," is the featured program for November and will be offered on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at Ascension Koller Behavioral Health, 1020 Kabel Avenue in the second floor conference room. Advanced registration is not required.
"This program will provide the opportunity for participants to continue to learn and review mindfulness and meditation in a community of others," Kathy Mitchell, MA, of Ascension Koller Behavioral Health, said in a press release.
Ascension Koller Behavioral Health also offers the Riverside Meditation Group. In November, the Riverside Meditation Group will be held on Nov. 7 and Nov. 21, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Riverside Meditation Group is an opportunity for anyone with a meditation practice to have regular group support. There are two 20-minute seated meditations with either walking meditation or Qigong in between. The meditation model is silent and still with occasional guided meditations. At the end a short talk focusing on enhancing skills of mindfulness and meditation. The Riverside Meditation Group draws from western psychological mindfulness teachings, philosophy, literature, and poetry, the release states.
