observance moved inside courthouse
The Oneida County Veterans Council has decided to move its Veterans Day ceremony from the Oneida County courthouse lawn to just inside the main doors of the courthouse.
"It may be crowded but at least it will be warm," Veterans service officer Tammy Javenkoski said, in announcing the location change.
The Nativity of our Lord choir will perform and guest speakers will include Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Mary Kolar, State Senator Tom Tiffany, and Navy veteran and Rhinelander attorney Brian Bennett, organizers said in a press release.
The ceremony may run longer than normal, the release noted.
Because the Veterans Day ceremony has been moved indoors, Oneida Avenue and Davenport Street will not be closed to traffic as originally planned.
