Community Christmas Dinner to be served Dec. 25

The Rhinelander Lions Club and volunteers will host a free Community Christmas Dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 25 at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 125 E. King St., Rhinelander.

Volunteers will serve a traditional holiday feast to those gathered at the church while approximately 100 meals will be delivered to those who aren't able to come to the church, organizers said in a press release.

Rapid Cab Company will be offering free taxi rides to the event. Call 715-365-7433 to arrange a ride.

For a home meal delivery, call 715-282-5904, 715-490-1899 or 725-362-6534 before Dec. 24.

"Rhinelander Lions Club members and volunteers are grateful for contributions of goods and services from Rhinelander Trig's store that includes turkey pre-creation along with all the local businesses and friends who support the annual Community Christmas Dinner with money, labor and materials," the release states.

Those who wish to donate to the meal can send a tax deductible donation to the Rhinelander Lions at P.O. Box 1005, Rhinelander, WI 54501. The Rhinelander Lions Club also extends a thank you to the community for supporting its food booth, bingo, Fisheree and other fundraising activities so it can continue giving back to the community, the release states.
