'A Mindful Relationship with Food' program to be offered Feb. 18

Ascension Koller Behavioral Health offers monthly mindfulness and meditation programs in Rhinelander that are free to anyone in the community.

"A Mindful Relationship with Food," will be the featured program for February and will be offered from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Ascension Koller Behavioral Health, 1020 Kabel Avenue in the second floor conference room. Advanced registration is not required.

"We are pleased to welcome Brendan Tuckey from Evergood Farm who will share his experience and perspective on the growing and marketing of food in our culture," Kathy Mitchell, MA, of Ascension Koller Behavioral Health, said in a press release. "This will be a great opportunity to wake up our personal habits and the opportunities in conscious consumption."

Ascension Koller Behavioral Health also offers the Riverside Meditation Group. In February, the Riverside Meditation Group will be held on Thursdays, Feb. 13 and 27, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Riverside Meditation Group is an opportunity for anyone with a meditation practice to have regular group support. There are two 20-minute seated meditations with either walking meditation or Qigong in between. The meditation model is silent and still with occasional guided meditations. At the end a short talk focusing on enhancing skills of mindfulness and meditation. The Riverside Meditation Group draws from western psychological mindfulness teachings, philosophy, literature, and poetry.

For additional information on the meditation group and mindfulness programs, call Ascension Koller Behavioral Health at 715-361-2805.
