The monthly meeting of the Northern Multiple Sclerosis Association will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Hiawatha Lodge; 115 Hiawatha Trail, Woodruff.
The Northern MS Association welcomes everyone with or without MS, new attendees, those with MS and their families, friends and supporters at all of their gatherings, which often feature a variety of speakers, the group announced in a press release. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month. There are no dues.
Anyone interested or with questions can email secretary Abigail at email@example.com. Those who may want to speak or volunteer with the group also are encouraged to get in touch.
Multiple sclerosis is a rare disease of the central nervous system. It is an incurable. Treatments are available to MS patients aimed to slow progression. More than 2.3 million people are currently affected by MS worldwide with more than 11,000 of those affected living in Wisconsin. Wisconsin has one of the highest prevalence rates in the country, according to the National MS Society.
