Demmer Library announces March programming

The Demmer Memorial Library in Three Lakes has announced its later March programming.

The Three Lakes Historical Society and the Demmer Library invite the public to join them for a light lunch of soup and fixings while sharing stories about the "good old days" of Three Lakes on March 18 at 11 a.m. in the Demmer Maple room, the Historical Society will have a map of Three Lakes and the chain. We encourage you to bring your memories of the "used-to-be"s while they put them on the map.

Can't make it to Story Hour because it doesn't work for your schedule? The Demmer Library is having a special "Family Dinner and Stories" Monday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Maple Room. Children will be treated to stories and tacos while adults can enjoy dinner and talk to retired educators about language and learning.

Books the Other Channel book group will be meeting in the lower level in the Tamarack Room on Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss "The Spy and the Traitor" by Ben Macintyre. All are invited to attend.

The Demmer library will have a Girls in STEM Activity Night available to girls ages 10 to 18 in the Demmer Library Libratory. Activities could be anything from building water clocks, to radios, to city planning. The sky is the limit. This month the activity is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 at 3:30 p.m.

Snowy owls are captivating birds that are occasional visitors to the Northwoods. The Demmer Library will host the North Lakeland Discovery Centers program, "Snowy Owls: The Tundra Ghosts" on Thursday, March 26 at 11 a.m. in the Maple Room. Join them for a fun discussion on the adaptations and traits that make this a unique species and some of the most recent studies tracking their phenomenal travels. Naturalist Annie from the North Lakeland Discovery Center will bring along a beautiful snowy owl mount and other owl artifacts for you to investigate.
