Camp Fire Oneida announces new programs at Camp Birchrock

Camp Fire Oneida Council operates a seasonal day and resident camp called Camp Birchrock in Rhinelander off County Highway K. Beginning this summer, new programs specifically for youth ages 11-17 will be offered in addition to the traditional day and resident camp.

The Leader In Training (L.I.T.) program runs simultaneously with Day Camp and is designed for campers who are ready for something more.

"L.I.T.s will practice their skills working with younger campers while still allowing times for them to have fun and participate in activities separate from the younger campers," Campfire officials stated in a press release.

Teen Resident camp is two separate weeklong sessions of resident camp in August that have been specifically set aside for youth 11-15. During these two weeks, teens will decide what type of new adventures to take on based on their interests, and they can roll out of their bunk later and stay up at the campfire longer.

Lastly, the Counselor In Training (C.I.T.) program will be offered for youth ages 15-17 that aspire to work in the field of childcare or in a camp setting.

The C.I.T. program is specifically during resident camp. Registration for Camp Birchrock programs can be found at campfireoneida.org. Scholarships, discounts, and work exchange are available for all programs.
